Apparel Catalogues
TSC Apparel
Set, 292 pages
While working with Willow Creative Group as a freelance designer, I worked on the production of a set of related apparel catalogues. At the point I was brought in, many of the layouts were still very rough or did not yet exist. Working with another designer, my role was to gather needed elements and create rough layouts of the pages. The content for the pages came from numerous sources, such as the previous year’s catalogue pages, which involved an additional step of finding the image files. Much of the artwork had to be shot specifically for the catalogue, whereas some was supplied by vendors. The next step was to place the text on the pages and format it according to the standards set by the art director, who further refined the layout.
The layouts where then proofed. Revisions were made as needed, and any issues that were discovered corrected. I lastly checked the integrity of the artwork, collected and organized the files, and prepared everything to be sent to the printer.
The main catalogue for the set was 180 pages. It came in two versions, one with pricing and one without, and had multiple covers. After it was completed, a set of two mini-catalogues, Attitudes and Essentials, were created, each showcasing only certain products from the main catalogue. Producing the mini catalogues required a similar working process as that for the main catalogue. The final catalogue was for custom embroidered and screen printed apparel. It required us to create a format for more complex pricing information, as well as placing logos on the photos used in the previous catalogues.
