Independent visitors guide published by The Athens News, produced to compete with a traditional and more conservative visitors guide produced by an out-of-town company. This visitors guide was intended to appeal to a different group of readers than the official guide, such as prospective college students or those who are new to the area. The editorial content was provided by the newsroom staff, and many of the images used were pulled from the newspaper's image archive.

Working as an art director, with the help of one other designer, we began the process by thumbnailing many of the feature spreads with markers on paper using the provided content. There is a high degree of variation between the different articles and spreads, a play on the Unique and Offbeat theme of the guide. While the end result is very bold, it succeeded in it original goal to provide a new, unique, and exciting look at the area.
